Creeper Crochet Blanket - Complete

Talk about a long haul! I started this project in October of 2011. It has nearly been a year and a half!

I'm very happy with the results. Afghan blankets take a lot of effort to make, it turns out.

I cheated with the last row - I couldn't find any more aqua so I just replaced the aqua square with the light green.

The border uses this crochet puff stitch edging tutorial, and turned out pretty good. I was going to use black, but I figured it would look to harsh so opted for the dark green instead. Turns out it was a good decision as the puff stitch uses a lot of yarn, and I didn't really have that much black.

I'm pretty excited to test it out when the weather gets a little colder!

Creeper Crochet Blanket - Not Big Enough!

Alas! The "finished" blanket is not large enough to satisfy any sort of snuggling needs. I thought I had finished; how wrong was I?!

To amend this, I took the Creeper body and exported it to three colours (no black) and I'm going to work a few more rows in. If I want to go all Golden Ratio, I'll have to make it 12 rows high, so four more rows.

This only annoys me because I thought I was so close to finishing it - it has almost been a year since I started the project. Plus I had to buy more yarn, and they were missing the light blue colour. The closest match I could find was an expensive knit meant for baby clothes (grrr). Fortunately it is relatively easy to match 8ply black yarn!

After finishing the last rows, I plan on edging it in black - and I'm kind of tempted to make a pretty shell edging.

Whelp, back to it then.

Creeper Crochet Blanket - Halfway There

An update to the first installment of my Creeper Crochet Blanket (see my Ravelry project here).

So far I'm about 50% done. I've needed to get another ball of black wool, and I'll need another aqua and light green.

I'm thinking of lining the whole thing with a shelled black border, and probably sewing the holes between the squares up!
