Mittens

Using this pattern I churned out a pair of convertible mittens. As the weather gets colder, my fingers do too!

These gloves use three new stitches - Half Double Crochet, Front Post Double Crochet and Back Post Double Crochet. The post double crochets made the ribbing around the cuff (a neat stitch I'm sure I'll use again). The decreases around the cuffs are not so elegant, but I tried my best.

The fit is okay. I reckon there should be more shaping around the palm, as it sort of wrinkles up.

Anyway, pics!

They are warm, so I don't really mind about the imperfect fit.

Coinpurse

Using this pattern I crocheted a cute little coinpurse, which snaps together and has a pink lining. Apart from the snaps, I picked the cotton and fabric up from various opshops (St Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army, I believe).

It's hard to tell from the photos, but the cotton is lovely. Slightly sparkly, and feels very solid. It was wonderful to work with, but it came with no labels. The fabric has polka dots, but faint and far-between.
